Abermor is a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization that creates sustainable work opportunities in food service/food retail for people with mental and physical challenges here in Central Florida. Our goal is to develop a more equal and inclusive community that will help the millions of disabled Americans become more independent.
There are over 61 million people in the US with a disability.
1 in 4 adults in America have some type of disability. That means you, a family member or a friend is impacted by a mental or physical challenge. We are all connected.
Florida ranked number 39 amongst the 50 states in disability employment.
There are 1,258,361 people with disabilities of working age in Florida. Only 34% have a job.
Of the 50 states, 29 states saw job gains among the disability community, while people with disabilities lost economic ground in 21 states.
